Erik French

Prior to joining Review of Maverick House, Erik practiced law in Connecticut and Massachusetts in a sole proprietorship and within firms. Most recently, Erik served at a residential program for persons with developmental disability, advancing that program’s quality of service and professionalism over the course of years.

Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he’s enjoys hiking with his family in Rock Creek Park.

Mary-Kate comes to the Review of Maverick House with a wealth of management as well as life experience. Mary-Kate has always felt passionate about taking care of others, and spreading the knowledge of self-care. She studied nutrition at the University of UMass in Lowell, and then embarked on a 10 year journey of running some of Boston’s most well-loved restaurants. After going through the Review of Maverick House as a client in 2019 and participating in UMass Boston’s alcohol and drug counseling program, Mary-Kate decided it was time for a career change. Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client’s past that are likely affecting their present-day experience.

Prior to joining Review of Maverick House, Vijay worked for a multi-state social service agency for over 23 years, beginning his career as a social worker and ending as their Vice President of Operations. Vijay also maintained his own practice since 1997 and supported a caseload of diverse clients as their therapist.

After that, Joe went to work as Program Director of Sullivan House, a 24-bed recovery home for men which is part of Middlesex Human Service Agency. During this time, Review of Maverick House transitioned from its longtime home in the South End to a new facility in lower Roxbury. Since 2011, he has also held a position as an instructor in the Alcohol Counselor Education Program at UMass Boston. Apart from our private events, Review of Maverick House is a vibrant hub for art, music, and creativity. Honoring the artists who revitalized North Park, we offer an inspiring haven for musicians, creators, and visionaries.

Joe brings almost 30 years of experience in the Substance Abuse treatment field to Review of Maverick House, covering a wide range of expertise. His first full-time position was at Review of Maverick House in Boston as Business Manager. Prior to that, he was working in the accounting department of Badger Engineers, a subsidiary of Raytheon. Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Once residents have completed the Review of Maverick House six-month program, they have the option of moving into a transition house called 12 Alcott Street. The move takes them from a house of 24 residents to one with just eight residents, just down the street from Review of Maverick House.

Finding with them the person they were, and the person they are yet to become, free of addiction. Ky has a passion for helping others through an objective and direct approach. Ky helps create a welcoming environment here at Review of Maverick House through their intake process and making sure each resident feels seen and welcomed.

Programs include outpatient, inpatient, dual-diagnosis, and partial hospitalization. You’ll receive therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy, and sometimes complementary therapies like acupuncture and mindfulness-based therapy. By attending skills training and recovery groups you’ll build a strong foundation for your recovery and strengthen your support network, increasing your chances of long-term recovery success.
